Kim Downing
I love to write about dogs and specifically training dogs. I have a long and varied background with dogs. All of my life has been filled with them. My parents showed German Shepherd Dogs for 30 years, so this is where I started.
Now, I am a CPDT-KA certified professional trainer: I own a dog training business, Your Best Dog, and teach group classes plus I do private instruction. I am certified to do AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluations. I am also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
I am a hobby dog trainer. I train and compete in several AKC performance events like obedience, rally, and agility with my German Shepherds. I am a member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America.
Previously, I have been a service dog trainer for a non-profit organization, Paws for Freedom.
I combine my dog training with freelance writing about mostly dogs of course! I write for clients all over the world including the UK, USA, Australia, and Canada. I also serve on the Communications Corps for the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
